This was taken at Custers Camp. The place that Custers calvary rested and camped prior to going into Wyoming and eventually to the Little Big Horn Battle. Very Pretty place. 2012 Electra Glide. |

I think we're going to need you to post 11 more picture if we plan on filling a callendar. LOL
Naw, I've got 2 bikes to enter this year, but I'm waiting on a part for one, and I think I've got an idea for a good picture for my dirtbike this weekend.

Great pic, but it would have been even nicer if you had moved up 50 feet and not had the sign in the background.
I do this all the time. I concentrate on the foreground and forget the background. Still, nice pic. Ralph

Here's my boys 03 KX 65 with the Monster Energy graphics. It's funny, cause he thinks he's got a sponsor now. LOL
The top end has recently been rebuilt with Wiseco pistons, had the suspension set up for for him with lgihter springs in the front and back, and FMF Fatty pie and silencer.

Just a little something I put around with with my boy.
I just had the top end rebuilt with a Wiseco piston, but I got it with everything else already done to it. I'l list what I know. After market rims and hubs, Enzo racing forks, 03 Cam, Galfer Wave rotors, Galfer braided brake lines, Galfer pads, Renthol fat bar, ARC folding levers, and Accerbis bark busters which I was really glad I had this weekend.

This started life in 1981 as a Honda CM400C.
I hand fabbed the hardtail backhalf of the frame and did lots of little things to it also to make it my own. There's a before picture and an after of each side. Enjoy- feedback welcome! |

That is seriously blacked out. Are the orange parts reflective?

Those "orange" parts are actually very very fire engine red, but for some reason in every picture I've taken of this thing, they look orange.
No, they are not reflective. Just a straight up red powdercoat. The only things that were powdercoated in this red are the front and rear axle covers, the swing arm bolt covers, and the adjusters on the spokes. And some matching red paint was applied to the reliefs in the rear wheel on both sides. All the chrome was stripped and 'coated in a satin black (the exhaust was done in a flat, textured black hi temp powder and the heatshields in a satin hi temp powder). I did the paint myself and all the fabrication needed to fit the fenders and the seat (since the rear fender was meant to be used with a solo seat and passenger pillion pad, there was a huge gap bewteen the fender and the seat with the one piece, which required some creative thinking to make it disappear). |

Did you lower it? Or does the paint make it seem lower than stock? Any idea what the seat height is now?
Cool looking machine. Sinister. This is just a guess, but I would think that HiViz clothing is not your thing... right? ;-) Ralph

Ralph, it is lowered about 2.5 inches using adjustable shocks from progressive suspension. Seat height is about 25 inches.
For black t shirts count as hiviz?? Haha! My wife always looks at me funny when I even mention wearing something besides black... just not me. |

Looks great, JS! I wish Harley would do more dark and less chrome (I'm more of a fan of the Nightster, Nightrod, Night train and even the Iron -- but wish they would offer the Iron in a 1200 cc instead of just the 883).
I assume you have your own shop, where are you located? |

Squally, I agree they should make the Iron in a 1200. The funny thing is that the Iron is more blacked out than is the Nightster. Should be the other way around in my opinion.
I do have my own shop... creatively named JS Customs. I'm located in central PA in a small town called Jersey Shore (we're about 15 minutes from where they play the Little League world series). I'll try and post my web site but not sure of I have enough posts. www.jscustomscycles.com |

I actually wated the sunset and the Grain elevator in the background, but missed seeing the sign. I agree, would have been better without the sign.

For some reason, I can't see the picture... doesn't show up as a broken link or anything like that... I can see the text of the original post, but there's just a white space below it- no picture...

I actually went past there a couple weeks ago to take my kids to Camp out in Central PA. If I get back out that way again, I'll try and stop by to check the place out. Good luck. |

Haha! Yeah... I guess it was originally settled by people from Jersey and people from the other side of the river didn't like the Jersians and so they called it the Jersey Shore.
That'd be awesome. Not much to see, but lots of work going on. Was the camp by any chance in Howard, PA? My daughter is going there next week. |

I saw a damn black bear running down the road that I took to get to the camp after I dropped my girls off. It popped out of the woods, ran down the road for about 10 yards and then jumped back into the trees. There were two vehicles coming the opposite direction, and we all stopped. One of the two vehicles was a guy on a motorcycle, and all I thought was..."I would have totally s**t my pants if I was stopped on my motorcycle and a bear ran out in front of me!" It was my first bear sighting that didn't involve a zoo or a circus! |

Thanks, Badlands!
It's sort of one- off. I actually took the stock head pipes and did a lot of heating and bending, making sure not to crimp them and bent them around the frame (the one from the left side only required a small bend where it joins the other one) and the right pipe quite a bit. Ran them into a piece of 3" straight pipe and welded them in place and crimped the end of the 3" to fit tight against the head pipes and welded that all the way around. Bought (hangs head) a 3" 90 degree elbow and marked it out and cut it to the point you see and butt welded it onto the end of the 3". Painted the whole thing with high-temp header paint and wrapped it with header wrap. The tip was actually one of the first things I did and that's where the "pointy" theme came from and carries through with the paint and the mirrors and the rear fender (which is off a 60-something Harley 250). To answer the question before it comes up (because it always does), no, it doesn't burn me. I can lay my leg right on it even after it's been up the highway. It's warm- don't get me wrong- but I can touch it without getting burned. This was a budget build for sure. I bought the bike for $200 and put about $1500 worth of parts and materials into it plus about 200 hours of my time total. It's a lot of fun to ride in small doses (250 miles is enough for one day) because of the hardtail and it gets lots of looks and "what is that???" |

It's got a full Giannelli exhaust, K&N air filter, custom map from ASR and Carbon fiber side covers, coil covers, and water tank cover.
And the picture is in front of the house I grew up in.

Haha! Welcome to the woods, Squally! That actually happens pretty frequently around here. I've seen more than one bear (and deer and all kinds of critters) when I've been on the bike.
A friend of mine actually totalled a brand new Ultra Classic when a deer jumped out in front of him. He hit it broadside and rode right through it... that was messy. He rode home, but we found the frame was tweaked and the forks were bent. Nothing was majorly out of whack, but there was a lot of it that was tweaked, so the insurance company totaled it. |

Wow that looks mean and blacker than the blackest night! great job man. Personally im a fan of blacked out bikes over the chromed out ones.

Thanks, Thrasher.
I like both the blacked out and chromed out options depending on the bike and the look I'm going for. I see merit to both schools of thought. But I'll say honestly that the chromed-out stuff looks good but when I'm walking past a bunch of bikes, it's the blacked-out ones that catch my eye moreso than the chrome. Plus chrome is such a pain to keep clean and looking nice. I want to spend my free time riding my bike, not cleaning it! |
