Just because I see these types of questions all the time. Is this kind better etc.
I have had my new Qwest for about 5 months now and I have to say I love it. I went from using HJC and KBC helemets before. Now keep in mind this helmet is designed for sport touring more than some others, the vents are higher up on the helmet than say a X-11 or 12. It doesn't flow as much air because there are only 4 vents but I have never gotten too hot and I have ridden in 104 degree weather in it. I find the interior to be very comfortable, it's a little snugger when you first get it, but once the padding adjusts to your face it's very nice. Top notch materials and well put together. Visors on the new line of Shoei helemets are great, when they are clean it's like you aren't even looking through a visor, such a big clear field of view. They are know to fog a little, but I find as soon as you start moving it clears right up. Also everyone raves about the pinlock system on these helmets and then no more fogging. Paint and outer shell are amazing, very nice looking helmet, you can for sure tell the differance in attention to detail. Noise level is great in my qwest, this is by far the least noisy helmet I have ridden with. I got a great deal on mine, but having owned one now, the normal $430-475 for a graphic version or $300 for a solid color is totally worth it. I have had 2 other people get this helmet since I did and they both love it as well. |
