Default Victory Demo Rides

Victory is doing their "National Demo Tour" this summer. I can't wait. I definitely plan to go when they get to Annapolis on June 30th. I'm still thinking about upgrading my bike, and as much as I loved a couple Harleys I test rode, I'd love to check out the Cross Roads (maybe the position of the pipes won't be the issue they seemed on the showroom), the Kingpin and the Judge.

Anyway, if anyone else is interested in checking them out, here's a link to the schedule so you can see when and where near you they may be:

I've done the demo ride a few times; nice bikes - you'll have a good time

Darn, I missed it because I was so busy with stuff with grad school and looking for apartments (my roommate is moving out and I'm running out of time to find something- rentals disappear fast in this area). I thought about it and realized I was missing it, but there was no way I could carve an hour or two out of Saturday. A shame too because the more I look into them, the better the Kingpin, Vegas and Cross Roads are looking (assuming the exhaust placement on the Cross Roads isn't the issue when riding that it seems it might be on the showroom). Once my classes are finished (last couple days of July) and before teachers return to work (mid-Aug) I'll have to just go to the dealer and test ride one of each. Depending upon how that goes, and what is available (and actual pricing) I may buy at the end of the season or wait one more year (I am enjoying my C50 a lot more now that I have the Mustang seat- so that idea is to wait a year, pay it off, and keep it so I can have two bikes).

If I was going to check out Victories ... I'd definitely look at the Judge. That is a NICE looking bike :-)

I'm happy with my Yamaha. But can't deny that Victory has got a winner with the Judge.

If you are, by chance, a student at Loyola we might be able to have some fun...

I was planning to attend the Annapolis event also, until a water pipe burst in my condo building that morning and flooded out 7 units (I won, I had the worst damage). Bad day all around - my office-mate (a returning rider, thus very out of practice and very inexperienced riding with groups) made it there and went down on one of the bikes during the test ride. I don't remember which model of Victory he was riding, something raked out pretty good with taller ape hanger-ish handlebars and a really wide rear tire he said. It wasn't even the model he went there to ride, but the one he wanted to ride was left on the truck because it had been crashed at the previous event. They took them around a traffic circle and there was a large branch in the road from the storms the night before, and while the riders ahead managed to dive to the inside and miss it the bike's geometry, fat rear tire, and handlebars conspired to prevent him from turning in sharply and getting inside far enough and his front wheel washed out on the branch and he went down.

Fortunately he had on his own proper (brand new) helmet, no silly borrowed half-helmet, because he said he looked to the side as he was going down and hit face-first. It was a Nolan 104 flip-face helmet, and it protected his face perfectly (he owes me one for that recommendation). The rider right behind him was an EMT, so he was well cared for as he regained his wits and such, and to their credit the Victory folks were totally unconcerned with the bike, only with him. Sore, bruised, and road-rashed on his arm, but he'll be fine and will ride another day. He said there was a lot of scratches and and dents and such on the bikes, apparently a lot of the bikes go down on test rides.

Glad your friend is OK.

I have always wondered what would happen if you dumped a bike during one of those demos. I didn't know if you would have to buy the bike or pay to get it fixed.

if you test ride a HD and you damage it, do you have to pay?

Don't know about HD, but at this event Victory (keeping in mind this was a factory sponsored event) had no issues with his accident and he didn't have to cover anything. I would assume the dealership insurance covers it for test rides at a dealership?

I would assume that one would have to sign some sort of waiver for ther test ride? Just curious

Yes you sign a waiver.

Jeff.....just stop by the Victory dealer when your free. All of them Ive been to were VERY generous with test rides. In fact the dealer I ended up buying my bike from gave me a bike around noon and said "just bring it back before we close at 6". This was after I pointed out that the bike I was riding was FAR to expensive and I wouldnt be buying it.

......"eh, ride it first.....no point in talking about money until you know you like it.....why waste the time"

......I ended up buying it. I guess "ride one and you'll own one" isnt their motto for nothing.

I did the Victory Demos a few years back when they were in my area. My first ride was on one of the fat rear tire bikes as well. I came close to riding into a ditch myself turning left from a stop sign. Not being used to the handling I didn't get it turned in fast enough, then scraped a peg as I was avoiding the ditch. I stayed upright and did no damage to the bike, but it made me more careful on a strange bike. On the other hand with the extra wide rear tire the rear brake was exceptional!

Sweet, I just saw they'll be in my area in December! That's a great time for riding around here! I want to try the new Judge!
