So I'm looking at putting saddlebags on my bike, but don't know what my limits are as far as dimensions. I've measured the bike and as far as I can tell I can fit up to 18x11" (tell me if I'm wrong) but I'm not sure what will "look" good. I want the biggest bags I can fit, but I don't want to sacrifice looks/comfort (if it presses up on the seat or something).
So I'm asking for help from all you (former) V-Star owners. What do you guys have on your bikes? Dimensions of your bags (and pix if possible) would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for your help guys! |

you need to post this question on a forum dedicated to V-Stars.
Look around. dT |

Well I figured since this is a forum dedicated to cruisers, there might happen to be a few people who happen to ride V-Stars. Since they're cruisers.

yeah ... understand.
it's just a question of number of viewers. there are cruiser riders here - but not too many of us. for very specific questions about gear, hardware, or maintenance it definitely pays to also join the most popular form dedicated to exactly the bike you ride. you are more likely to find someone who has done the thing you are asking about. i wasn't trying to give you a hard time. just pointing you in the right direction. good luck, dT |

These came with my bike....they are on the Silverado model, which is the windshield I have also. Dimensions are 11" H x 21" L x 7½" W
and that is pretty roomy, I can get a LOT of stuff into them!

there you go. 4 Raven proved me wrong :-)
That's a nice looking set of saddlebags by the way ... they're sharper than the ones I've got on my bike. I'm slightly jealous :-) dT |

Thanks, DistantT....just glad they came with the bike!!
![]() Yeah, when I took it to a local shop for some questions one day, one of the co-owners was looking my bike over pretty well...he said that those bags are expensive ($790 plus the brackets $170) So I am keeping pics like this one in my folder for insurance purposes....because they are expensive to replace also! I have almost 30K miles on them, and they look like they are brand new....when I clean all the bug guts off of them! Hold up well in all weather too...from 13F-100F and from heavy thunderstorms to snow! Everything is always dry when I get it out of the bag! http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star/.../0/detail.aspx

Awe..thanks goalie.....the heels aren't that high really...just normal Ridge boots....besides I am tall enough without them....and I really needed boots that I could do a little hiking in on some of my stops!
