Default 30,000 km's on 2010 Ninja 250R SE

I've had my bike since new, and just hitting 30,000 km's now.
I still love my bike just as much as the first day I took it out for a spin.

I don't have the money to upgrade to a larger bike at the moment, but I was wondering on what I should do.

Would it be smarter to just keep my bike, and run it till it quits? Or would I even get peanuts for the bike because of the size and km's?

People buy 250's to start on. I doubt someone will want one that has over 30,000 km's on it, because they're going to think it's at the end of it's life.

I don't think that is very high mileage. As long as you take care of the motorcycle and maintain it correctly, you should get a decent amount at trade-in time.

I generally wait until about 100,000 miles or 160,000 km to switch motorcycles.

Fall of 2010 we bought an used 09 with 47K km on it for my wife at $3400(from a dealer), sold it privately spring of 2011 with 54K km for $3200. Now I did have it listed for sale for 5mo before it sold.. I started listing it end of January for $3800.. I looked at what the other similar Ninja's were going for and listed it $1000 less than them due to the higher milage.. and I listed it that high knowing everybody was going to low ball me. This way I could come down a bit, I'd still get what I actually wanted and the buy would feel like the got a deal.

If you like it and can't afford to upgrade, I'd say keep riding it. with bike's it's not so much the milage, but the maintenance that matters when selling used.

Wow! That's amazing price you got for that!
I just asked a dealer a few days ago what i would get for it, and they said probably around $1,500 if I'm lucky???
Feels really good to read your post now.
Thanks for sharing!

dealer will give you less, cause they'll do a little maintenance then try to sell it for $3000 themselves :P
