Smile Picked up first bike

finally picked up my first bike the other day, the 2003 ninja 500r. I'm happy with it, I've only put about 60 mile on it since I got it, been busy working two hours from home so i haven't had a lot of time for anything, been working at night fishing eels, the day I went and got the bike I had been up for 48 hours straight lol.

Its in pretty good shape and runs excellent, only problem is when they strapped it on to the truck, the hook wasn't on their good and it popped off, down the bike went when I went to move my truck. It landed on the bed and cracked the wind shield fairing, piece about the size of a quarter. I'm gonna glue it on their temporally until I can figure out what to do with it. The dealership gave me a new Joe Rocket jacket and pair of gloves for it, i could of had them fix it but I'm not to worried about it, it already had a scuff on it anyways. I ordered a new icon alliance threshold helmet, and a pair of textile pants the other day. Here's some pictures of it, And of a half torn apart snowmobile I'm painting lol.

I've never been a big fan of the "squared" tail of the 500R, but in midnight blue (looks super dark blue on this PC) that thing is super sexy. Good deal on the 1800. I'd have rode it home too for that price.

Sounds like you did really well. Hope you enjoy it. I looked at a few and thought it would be pretty cool to streetfighter it. Let me know how it is as a first bike, I may own one in the future.

thanks! I would of rode it home but i didn't have anyone to drive my truck home. I was working in Bangor and the bike was in Ellsworth. I was fishing that night so as soon as i was done i went and sold my eels and went to Ellsworth to get the bike, then I had to wait in the parking lot two hours for them to open at 8:00 lol. I'm pretty up set the fairing cracked but theirs not much you can do now. I didn't like the way he strapped it down and i was going to fix it, I moved the truck ten feet to get it out of the way and down she went. the hook popped of off the strap on the left fork, When I hooked it back up I fed the tail end through the loop on the hook so it was impossible for it to pop off.

I think their a good first bike, I did have some dirt bike experience which helped a little but you would have to try pretty hard to mess up real bad on this bike, but its still powerful enough to not get bored with it quick, so far I love it.
