How to out run the cops!

So who has some good advice on out running the law?

I got pulled over today and I was really tempted to just open it up and run.
In my mind it shouldn't be that hard to get away. I mean we are WAY faster than them and I don't care if I hurt people I don't know! Who has some good pointers for all those interested...

I do, go stick your head up your anus and don't get on a bike again.

I know one guy who ran and got away... for five years, then he couldn't keep his mouth shut and got arrested. Whatever he did was still open to citation and jail time.

I hope when you do finally take the dive and try to run, the only person who gets hurt is you. Anal pore!

You might be able to out run the car... there isn't a bike made that will out run the radio.

I had a very long post written up describing in detail just how stupid of an idea this is.... I figured why bother, you're not going to listen to it any way. I have a feeling you will be picked up with a sponge one day, I only hope you don't take anyone else with you....

I am leaning towards the original post as being a joke. Takes only a few glances at the general character of posters on this forum to see that they tend to be the top shelf MC enthusiast you would be fortunate to share the roads with.

You know I was thinking about money paid out for tickets where I could have run on the bike. I think it's been maybe about $300 max. One was a passing on double yellow, but I'll count it, because the sheriff's deputy passed two of us to catch up with the buddy who passed on a blind corner (a truck w/trailer going really slow on a country highway), we passed (without noticing the deputy in our mirrors). He continued on past us on the same straight. We looked at each other with a look and a shrug hinting at "should we turn off and leave?" We decided not to do so and followed the deputy following our buddy a way up the road. Finally the buddy, who never looks in mirrors and the one on his SM gave a good view of his arm, heard the deputy's blip of the siren and pulled over. The deputy flagged us over and we stopped. He wrote up our buddy for reckless op because of the blind corner and got us for the double yellow. Fines were $200 and $100 respectively. We passed on a straight that was double yellow so we didn't get hammered. As for running, we commented to the deputy. He said he already had our plate numbers and had called them in just in the event we decided to take off... good call on our part.

It just isn't worth it to try to evade a cop. If I pass one going the other way I won't slow up unless I see them turn around, then I figure I'm had. But in some cases they won't bother to turn around, especially on a winding road with some light traffic. Just isn't worth it to them in that case.

Odd note: I actually have a chapter about pulling a runner in the new book--my 2c? Worked in 1982--but nowadays? With all the closed circuit TV and networking? Don't bother. Pull over and man up.

I figure only getting hit for about $300 over all these years is about maybe a dime for every time I've been 10 or more over, maybe less. It's just karma catching up. I figure it will hurt way less to just take my lumps when I get caught. I now just try to not be more than five over so as to not get smacked down.

We had a local speeding, deputy put his lights on and he flew off. Deputy knew he could not catch him, called a head for an intercept. There were numerous side roads and homes to pull off onto, so when the deputy reach the other end of the road figure he lost him, but not his tag number. Days go by and boy does not show up at home or work. County worker mowing grass on the sides of the road finds a motorcycle on the side of the road, in a curve and calls it in. Deputies show up and find our boy dead, either lost it in the curve by target fixation or some mud on the road.

Yeah, go run and a void a speeding ticket.

Im sure that there are plenty of people on this site that have ran from the fuzz before, me being one (twice). Not proud of it. With that being said I highly do not promote it or encourage doing such a stupid thing! I was lucky and I also was very young and very dumb. I cant believe someone would actually ask that question and then on top of that state they dont care about hurting people! People with that kind of disregard to people have some serious issues. I hope for his sake he didnt mean what he said and was trying to get a rise out of us. If he did mean what he said I hope he get what he deserves! Either Jail time and a new boyfriend named bubba or if he ever hurt or killed anyone a dirt nap. People like this make me sick. Wish I could meet this puke and tell him how I really feel. HAHA

About two years ago I was riding along a two lane highway when right in front of me a kid on a motorcycle trying to outrun a police car had a head-on collision with a dump truck and was killed instantly. Ruined my whole day.
