First bike prices

I'm trying to find a first bike, I don't want to buy new because I've never rode before. I was thinking about the CBR250R or Ninja 250R but for some reason I can only find them used even the price is more expensive than the brand new models.
Around this site I've seen people saying they can find these type of bikes used for around 2000$, is that true?

You won't find a CBR250 for anywhere near $2000 as they've only been out since 2011. I doubt you would be able to find the current style Ninja 250 for $2000 either as they've only been out since 2008. However, with some searching you can probably find a pre 2008 Ninja 250 in your price range.

I was just going to say that the popularity of the Ninja (and probably the CBR soon) keeps the price higher than other models available. The good part about that is the resale value remains high if they are taken care of, so there is a decent return on owning one for a couple of years or so, especially when bought used.

Motorcycles like the GZ250, Rebel, and S40 can often be found for a lower price and also tend to hold most of their value when bought used.
