Default Clear coating polished parts

I'm rebuilding the engine on my '69 Honda CB350 and I thought I'd take this opportunity to polish some aluminum engine parts. I've polished the engine side covers and a some other engine parts. I thought about painting these parts with a gloss engine paint. Will a gloss engine paint hold up to the high heat or am I creating a future problem? Worried about yellowing, peeling, etc. Better to just hand polish every so often? Any other opinions on maintaining polished aluminum? What about non-engine polished parts. Thanks for opinions.

I have heard of clear coated aluminum before, but never on a part that is exposed to that much heat. The expansion/contraction will ruin the paint in no time.

Plating or anodizing always! No other way to go.

Eastwoods makes a good product for clear coating bare metal that I've had great success with.
I've tried others thru the years and they do eventually yellow, but the eastwoods seems to hold up well.

Plating is the way to go. You can pick any color you want.
