i have an ohio motorcycle permit and i can't ride at night what would happen if i got caught? i will be riding with a licensed rider but in ohio that dosent matter though. please stories or things that happened to you and a little advice and maybe excuses please? thanks
Like I said in your other thread, you will probly ticketed/arrested for an invalid license, possibly taken to jail, bike impounded and it will ruin your night.
yes but it isnt like im riding w/o a licens just outside restrictions? i know of people that just have got warnings hmmm kinda of a hard decsion to make?
It's going to be up to the officer that pulls you over. He may just tell you to carefully ride home and follow the rules next time or he may decide to teach you a lesson by citing you with a fine and calling a tow truck.
It depends on the officer. Most of my buddies would issue a citation, and possibly follow the rider home. If it is a by the book officer, probably a citation and the bike would either be towed home or to the impound lot at the owner's expense.
Maybe a good excuse would help; I had to work later than usual. But don't lie to the cops.
Don't ride a passenger, don't go on the freeway.
Practice your riding and get your full license.

I found a guy in another forum that got pulled over with his motorcycle permit both at night and on the interstate. That apparently is a first degree misdemeanor and he was arrested. This was in Lake County, Ohio. Unless his details are misleading, (the actions seem a bit out of proportion to me) then that is an extreme case of what to expect.
As far as excuses go, as said before no single excuse really works for all cops, it depends on the individual officer... Unless of course you know, or are related to an LEO, that will usually get you off scott-free.
This is merely hearsay, but here in California (I know it's not OH!!! geez! ), the rider cannot ride the rest of the way and either needs to call someone up with a valid M1 to ride the rest of the way home (assuming there is insurance on the bike). Or, call in the tow trucks.
The rider will get a moving violation on his/her record (ie. a point on driving record) and possibly a fine.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
