Hey everyone,

searched the forums and didn't see anything about this... curious what everyone is paying per year (or monthly) for their insurance plans?

- how long have you been riding?
- what do you ride?
- how old are you?
- been in accidents?
- who provides your plan?
- do you have other vehicles/houses on a combo plan?

Hey everyone,

searched the forums and didn't see anything about this... curious what everyone is paying per year (or monthly) for their insurance plans?

- how long have you been riding? 5 years now... went quick!
- what do you ride? 2008 Yamaha R6
- how old are you? 27
- been in accidents? Nope, knock on wood. (none my fault in cages either)

ah, interesting- thanks for the responses!

I guess i should've also asked what state/location everyone is...
anyone here from or close to Los Angeles?

I was hoping to get a discount on insurance by combo-ing with home/car but it seems like a lot of you have separate policies; is there an advantage in this?

next step- gotta talk to my agent!

2 years
1989 Harley Sportster / 1986 Honda Shadow

Yes, rolled a car at 70 mph about 4 months ago. My only accident.
Geico
Yes, 2 other cars

Full coverage on the Shadow was only $100 a year. I just added the Sportster and that was $340 a year! I was kinda expecting things to go up though after totaling my wife's car a few months ago.

great! thanks for all the responses.

i realized i never answered my own questions for you guys... so here goes:

- how long have you been riding? new rider
- what do you ride? CCW misfit
- how old are you? 26
- been in accidents? none (11 yrs of driving a car)
- who provides your plan? no MC insurance yet
- do you have other vehicles/houses on a combo plan? home and car under farmers.

i got a quote for farmers at over $700 a year!

so i went ahead and checked out progressive and it's under $200 a year for pretty decent coverage.

riders insur looked good but unfortunately doesnt offer in my area (los angeles, ca)

- what do you ride? 78' CB400T
- how old are you? 28
- been in accidents? 0
- who provides your plan? Progressive
- do you have other vehicles/houses on a combo plan? My car

I paid $76 for the first year with minimum liability and no comprehensive or collision (not the best idea in retrospect). I am going to switch to Geico and raise my limits for uninsured and underinsured motorist and get comprehensive coverage when this runs out.

I've been with Progressive for so darn long they should start paying me back.

I insure the Zephyr and KLX650 for $100 for both of them. I have higher limits than minimum along with fire/theft/vandalizm. I figure if I crash them I'll pay.

I'm thinking it's been over 25 years now with them and no claims and I'm 57 years old riding street since 1975.

$147.00 per year, full coverage.
I think the fact that I live in Idaho also has some bearing on the low rate.
