Does anyone know anything about a Shaw Motorcycle or know of anyone who owns one? I am looking for others that have them.

Pictures of mine are on my site at Tom Gray Vintage Collectibles.

Very nice website and a wonderful collection. Your summary of the Shaw is more than I ever knew. Don't know where you are located but, from the museum quality appearance of your bikes, I'm guessing that you participate in the Vintage show at Half Moon Bay in California. I'll also take a wild stab and say that your bikes run. Do you put anymore than just idle time on the engines? Do you ride them for a few miles every year? Once again, nice job on the resto.

Thanks for the kind words. My view regarding collecting vintage bikes is to "Ride 'Em... Don't Hide 'Em... I do ride them frequently to insure that they stay in perfect condition.

As for California? I have never attended but I do plan to in the near future.

Thanks Again for the welcome!

No Shaw but a 1909 Thor

Have a 1909 Thor IV completely disassembled. If you have any information on such---halp!!! Needs restoration, but only surface rust. Only a little paint here and there. NEED EVERYTHING on a THOR IV!!!!!

If I find anything on a Shaw will pass it on.

I have a shaw motor cycle engine - no bike. Single cylinder, air cooled made in Galesburg Kansas. Not sure what to do with it. Missing carb and some ignition, maybe a good start for someone who know more than me about these things.

Any one have source of parts? I assume not. Can I any old old bicycle frame or did shaw select a specific frame? Or some frames better than others?

I dont see anyway to attach photo. You may send me an email via the forum if you care to this this dirty bird.

I found a fairly large copper and brass carb in the same building as the motor. It looks like an old auto carb. There is a brass tag, reads "Kingston Patent Applied For". This is one old carb and probably from the teens. There were some 1912 Cadillac parts strewn about, so this could be for that too?

Sorry, I cannot post a photo.
