Ok, I'm in the market for a laptop. Don't ya know right when my online classes start my pc hits the crapper. I like my music and my games...such as WOW or 2MOONS. And of course papers for school, notes etc. I'm not looking for top end but don't want low end either. Throw some suggestions out there for me.
3 gig w/250?
4 gig w/300?
Processor?

Thanks:thumbsup:

2G RAM = good for XP, 4G RAM = good for Vista. More RAM = good only when you have multiple windows open. Drive size is up to you. I haven't done any research on laptops for a long time (if I need powerful systems I go for desktop - way cheaper), but heard of the Centrino 2 which is the mobile version of Core 2 Duo, so maybe that's the one, unless you're into AMD.
Keep in mind that you only need a powerful laptop if you use it for: heavy document/file processing, graphic, heavy/high graphic gaming (let me know if I miss anything), otherwise a $500 laptop will do.

If your just looking for a decent laptop, go for HP. They make laptops with both Intel and AMD chipsets, and are a great value, and well built.

If you want the high end stuff for gaming...Alienware is pretty much the bees knees.

I have a Toshiba laptop, 4 gb ram, 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 processor. 160 GB hard drive. Vista Home Premium. I am very happy with it. I use it at home and for travel. It has a 12.1" screen.

how much money are you looking to spend? some of the cheapest high end laptops (or desktops, for that matter) you'll find are at ibuypower.com, but those are still going to be $1000+. i got mine for $1150 or so, and it rivals a $2200 dell.

you could probably find a high end computer for a mid range price there. or find a better mid range laptop for about $700-800. just looked at the site, they've got a nice gaming laptop for $779.
