I am between the two, I prefer japanese because they are cheaper to service, here in Greece and supportively problem free...
any thoughts?

They're pretty equal really. Couple of exceptions: Kawi better low end performance vs. Star upper end (said to make interstate rides more comfortable). Liquid vs. Air cooled. If either of these are not a factor then the one that fits you best will serve you well. Owners of both dispise the stock seats.

I had a VN800 and I really did like the watercooling. Also the handling was credible for a cruiser.

i have sat on both...ridden neither...but just from the sitting, the kawasaki's were MUCH more comfortable for my body - 6feet tall.
All of the yamaha's felt like i was on a big wheel, and would have required modifying the forward controls for me to be comfortable.

you won't go wrong with either.
I have the Kawi 900 custom. I love the price was right , but it did need a better seat. I 'm 6"2 the seat change helped with the controls a bit.
My buddy gills has the 950 yam.. He loves it.
Price them out
Sit on them
Ride them
Check them out
