My buddy wanted to build a fender eliminator for his 08 CBR 1000, so we got out the tools and went to work. For this we got a 2x4 joust(spelling) hanger and some simpson strong tie supports. One support on the inside and one on the outside to hold the plate. Here is what we started with

We sawed off his old fender and mud flap with a reciprocating saw and an air grinder.

We mounted the support onto the joust hanger and drilled some screw holes in the top. We fitted the mount under the tail at the desired location and screwed the whole thing to the second support from the outside.

Lined everything up and drilled the holes on the supports a little bigger, went to cycle gear and got some LED license plate lights, wired them into the old plate light wire and we were good to go. Material cost, 2.60 for the hard parts, and 28 bucks for the LED screw lights, and a fun project....(priceless)
