I just got myself a 82 honda cb650sc nighthawk and I want to get my exhaust a little louder and I've heard that I should be able to drill out the rivets on my exhaust and remove the baffles but I wasnt sure if that is going to screw up my bike running, would I need to do anything to the carbs like jetting and what not? Trying to keep it cheap its my first bike and I'm already thinking about upgrading in a year or 2.
thanks

You will most likely have to rejet the carbs to keep the bike from running too lean.

Dods covered it. There is a chance that you won't need to change anything, but it's more likely that you will.

Also, could you make an intro post so we all get to know you better? There's an introduction forum specifically for that.

I have a 82 nighthawk 650, it has a 4-1, and I am wanting to get a throaty sound out of it. As it is, the bike already runs rich. I removed the whole bell part of the muffler, so I was running straight pipe. Bike sounds good, have a lil bit of popping. But I want to quite it a little bit. I tried running the whole exhaust will no babble. That is way, WAY to bass sounding, the guards at my apartment complex heard me like 500 ft away.

Anyone have any ideas? Thinking about just drilling a few small holes in the normal baffle. There is only the one.
