OK well its getting that time of year where I start my summer job. And since I have a bike now I would love to ride it to work. I have about a 30 mile commute each way. I have to dress business casual so Id be wearing slacks and a polo. My problem is that I dont have any riding pants yet and I am not sure what type of pants I should get. I would like to get a pair of draggin jeans some day for the practicality of them. My question is; Should I just get the draggin jeans and change at work or should I get some overpants and just take them off at work?

Whether or not you want to change at work is up to you I guess. Personally I like wearing my Scorpian Deuce pants if i'm going to spend a lot of time on the freeway. I take out the liner and use them as overpants. It does a better job of blocking the wind than my riding jeans

I know it's probably not safe, but I just wear my khaki's on the bike. Or whatever slacks I am wearing to work.

I'm pondering over the same question now. I wear business casual slacks to work, (I asst. manage a restaurant) and I can't decide between going to the restroom and changing in the stall, or just "dropping my drawers" in the parking lot (overpants, that is).

I use Coretech Flex pants. Good armor and coverage, zips right off...

I commute to work on my bike and just go into work all geared up. I then hang it all in my office. I also have a set of rain gear in a drawer in case it starts to rain while I am at work. I do not worry about it any more.

I saw your post in another thread about it being a Tourmaster. I have a Tourmaster Flex Series 2 jacket I got with my $1,500 customer cash when I bought the bike. Is this jacket the same as your pants? I live where I can ride most of the year. I was looking into chaps more for the convenience of on/off. I have a pair my cousin let me have and love the warmth they provide on the highway. If the pants are same could you provide some more info on them? Thanks!

I commuted for years and just used chaps. But one thing you might want to consider with them is the zipper location. I've found if the zipper is on the inside of the leg they are easier to get on and off. I found that out after just picking up a pair once that had zippers on the outside of the leg. You wouldn't think it would make a difference but it sure did with me. I mean it's not bad, you just have to contort a little. Heck for all I know that might be the only way you can get them now. It was several years back that I purchased the ones with zippers on the inside.
