I ride a sport bike, and I'm looking to get a pair of boots on ebay but the sizing seems to be strange, people claim that 12's fit like 10's and as i wear a size 11.5/12 sneaker i was wondering if i should be looking for a larger size then that (Alpinestars, Oneal, Thor) . Second question, is it a bad idea to get 'motocross boots' they seem to offer a good amount of protection and durability.

Please advise.

The boots are ok one way or another. Any kind is good. But, I would never buy online, as the fit is different for each foot/boot. So I have to try them on. No doing that on Ebay or Craigs, etc.
Unless, you can get a close out model, such as from Bike Bandit, where you know and have tried on exactly that make and model at the store in that size.
Fit is important on those.
