Just wondering if anybody here has one, I have been looking at one and was wondering what anyone thought of them.
Like how they are for performance, reliability, yada, yada.

Don't own one but I've heard they are as reliable as an anvil. That design has been around awhile. I wouldn't be afraid to buy one.

Never had one but I used to want one like nothing else. I eventually had a souped-up DR350 come my way and my thirst was quenched but I'd still like to have the XR650 some day, though for my current purposes a KLR650 would be more appropriate.
So I can't offer you any real first hand experience on that bike but I can tell you I'll be jealous if you get it!

I really like the design and the salesman had alot of praise for it , but I didn't know if it was true or if he was just trying to sell it. The online reviews are also saying that it is a pretty good bike as well. We will see what happens, but I don't want to buy it without knowing how it rides and handles either.

I have one and it is a great all around duel sport.
It is a little heavy for serous dirt biking.
People that own them fondly refer to them as Big Red Pigs :p
It has plenty of power to commute on 75mph is not a problem and I do fine on heavy trails. It is bulletproof after all it is a Honda.
every body that I have talked to that owns one loves it.
I think the only thing better in its class is the KTM but then you sacrifice that Honda dependability. We don't even want to think bought price difference.
Good Luck

I had one up until 2 years ago. It was a late '80s model, back then they were known as an XL-R. It was an awesome bike. Not too heavy, good power range. The only negative was the twin carb setup. (Don't know if they use that design now). If they were not perfectly adjusted it was a B**** to start.(didn't have elec start) Over all a GREAT bike though.
