Check out the Icon Tarmac 3. It has some protection, but not a lot, but is very comfortable in high temps. No break in period either.

I have the alpinestars smx gloves and love them, leather/mesh with carbon fiber in the knuckles.

I'd say any gloves that have palm and knuckle protection, and a lot of holes to breathe would be good.

Rex, have you found them to be pretty durable? The reviews seem pretty solid except for durability. A lot of people complain of pieces falling off/apart, but the gloves still being functional...how are yours?

Bye the gloves at cycle gear and they will take them back if they mess up. I have been wearing mine almost daily for probly th elast 8 months and have no complaints of them falling apart.

icon makes a number of decent warm weather gloves out of leather.

I just ordered a pair of Joe Rocket Mojo Summer gloves from CycleGear.com. They're normally $50, but on sale for $20.

Would minding posting a review on this thread once you get them? I would be interested to know how they feel and what level of protection you think you will get out of them.

My gloves came in, but I haven't had a chance to go out on the bike with them yet. I got the XXL size. They are a tight fit trying to get them on, but once they're on, they fit nice. There's a vent over the knuckles to let air flow in. It's still too cold in the Buffalo area to wear these while riding. Once the temp gets into the 70's I will try them out and see how well they work in the warmer weather.

I got the Icon Purcuit gloves and they are by far the most breathable leather gloves I have ever worn. Perforated leather is the ****!

I went out on the bike yesterday, and it was warm enough for me to wear the gloves. While riding, the vents in the knuckles let air in, which flows into the finger compartments. On a warm summer day, I don't think sweaty fingers will be in issue with these gloves. I would definitely recommend these gloves.

Do they feel like they are heavy enough to provide protection in a fall?

They're not really armored, but are padded in the fingers. I'd say they would compare to the protection of a mesh or textile jacket in a fall.

I just ordered a pair of Cortech Accelerator 2 gloves. Seemed to have a good combo of protection, venting, and price.

I have the Icon Tarmac 2.0 gloves currently, and I was starting to think that they don't have enough protection. Haven't seen the newer 3.0s, though.
