Hey guys. I am still searching for a suitable bike.
I'm looking at the mid to late 90's Kawasaki Ninja 500r's.
But the thing that really determines my choice in bike is going to be weight.
I think I had mentioned it before but I'm 5'9 137 l.b. so I need help finding a bike that isn't going to break my chicken legs- lol!
Also is there any gear I can wear that will completely obscure my hair? (I have..freakin long dreadlocks.. lol) I need a coat that will not let them show for safety reasons first, and cosmetics second.

If you can flat-foot the bike at a stop, I don't think you will have much trouble handling the weight of the Ninja 500. These are fairly light as far as bikes go.
I'm not sure about the dreadlocks. Wearing a helmet may be difficult.

The helmet I have now fits fine and dandy, I just mean I would like to tuck them in the back of my shirt instead of having them fly all over the place when I ride.

At your weight and height the bike should be a good fit actually... I am 5'8 145 lbs and had a 1995 Yamaha Seca II as my first bike (which has a similar seat height and was slightly lighter) and i was able to lay my feet flat (and i have kinda short legs) and able to keep it upright... most of the time:p... As long you you can keep balance you should be fine. It all a matter of getting a bike and getting used to it really... also if you like the look of the Seca II it is worth checking out if you don't mind a limited aftermarket (in the US anyway, they seem to love it in Europe)
Now for the hair... the only thing i cant suggest is to tie it off... then tuck it in the jacket... making sure its not too snug in the jacket where it makes it uncomfortable to turn your head to look for traffic... other than that, your gonna have to figure out what makes you comfortable when you get a bike and start riding... Hope this helps!

+ 1 for tie it off and tuck it----your hair that is ! Long hair
and motorcycles is like oil and water.....when you mix the two,you usually come up with a mess ! I don't have any words of wit on this subject because I am trying ,also, to find a real good solution ! And NO----
cutting the hair is NOT a solution !!....so there !...........................

Well I guess you just tie them real tight in a pony tail and let them hang... But I think that a nice hair cut will solve everything... eh eh

They sell hair wraps, which wrap up a pony tail. I think something similar could work for the dreads, or you could make your own pretty easily.
