Tire brands & favorits?

Are there any tire brands that do better then others? i'm buying tires for my bike...and if it was my car i'd just slap whatever on there (I know bad idea)

So what brands do you go with?

Im moving this into the reviews section, but metzler, pirelli are both good brands I have experience with.

You can't go wrong with Avon motorcycle tyres! They are a little on the expensive side, but in this case you get what you pay for. Very impressive tyres.

Yikes? Unfortunately I do agree with the 'Car' comment - to myself cars (as a self proclaimed 'Biker' :rolleyes:) are only to serve as MC Support Vehicles, OR for dealing with the average 8 months of Winter in this place! Or on occasion, a place to sleep IN (may be coming up soon…) :p But given that on a motorcycle you only have a surface contact area of (as I understand it) that of a Quarter (or perhaps only a Dime... or Pence?) you surely better go for what works!! ;) Dunlops (American or British origin) work for me - end of story. They've been mostly my MC tire of choice (yeah, I've tried most of em') for 37 years (out of 52) on bikes. Are they the Biker Gawd's gift to the world?! Hardly.... BUT given the daily routine of a schitt load of so much ridiculous OTHER (unnecessary) crap to deal with, isn’t it great to have at least one LESS thing?! When I need a new MC tire, I just go to the Dunlop website – see what they recommend for my model – end of story! Wish the FRACK everything else was this easy! Nuff’ said.

Buying tires is like choosing a bike. It is a personal choice defined by how you ride and where you ride. That is why they make so many kinds of bikes & tires.
So I guess I must ask What do you ride? and how do you ride it? and where do you go when you ride? Do you go out for 5mi. a year or 500:confused:

Does anyone have any experience with Shinko or Full Bore USA m3 tires? I cant really find any information on them…. I was looking to try a pair for my 07 ZX6r

I actually need to replace the rear tire on the Hawk. I was wanting something that would last a good amount of miles, but would also give me a lot of good grip through the corners.
