Looking for a jacket, first bike, cruiser btw. Want something sporty looking, obviously don't want all sport bike style jackets covered in logos. Needs to be something decent in colder weather, though I'm in Alabama, so winter isn't too horribly rough. Again, first timer, so definitely looking for something with some sort of armor. Leather. Black. Like a little color, white preferably, but greys, silvers, tan not bad, will consider most colors. But primarily something black. Oh, and not looking to spend too terribly much money, would like to keep it around $200, no more than $300.

I've been searching through a lot of websites. Have scrolled through a lot of threads on here looking for more info, but still would like a little input as to the jackets I've found that I like, and also if anyone else knows of other sites to look at or other jackets that may fit my needs/desires...

Tour Master Coaster II (http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/3/11/99/1295/ITEM/Tour-Master-Coaster-II-Leather-Jacket.aspx) - Probably one of my favorites as far as style goes, I've got a cheap leather jacket similar to this.

AGV Sport Stinger (http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/AGV_Sport_Stinger_Leather_Jacket--610439.html) - I like this, and seems to be popular here on the forum as well.

Xelement Jacket (http://www.leatherup.com/p/Mens-Motorcycle-Jackets/Mens-Advanced-Armored-Apus-Leather-Motorcycle-Jacket/42512.html) - Seem to have pretty decent feedback for this brand of jackets, considering the price. Get what you pay for it seems. Not a huge fan of this one, but anyone have anything to say about the brand?

Fieldsheer Aston (http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/Fieldsheer_Aston_Leather_Jacket--639157.html) - Really like this one as well, and again, if not this jacket specifically, anyone know anything about this brand? I've seen them mentioned a few places but haven't read much on them yet.

Fieldsheer Track Paddock II (http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/Fieldsheer_Track_Paddock_II_Leather_Jacket--620634.html) - A little more than I want to spend, but really like the look and it meets most everything I want/need, another Fieldsheer...

Anything anyone has to say is welcomed.

A great website to check frequently (and no, I'm not paid by them, I just like their service) is www.newenough.com

They have good sales, worth checking up on if you're looking for some good gear at a reasonable price.

^ +1 on newenough.com especially the closeout section (they don't carry my size in jackets or pants, but I have heard nothing but good things about them)

Don't specifically "know" those jackets, but newenough has very good info on their website.

Tourmaster & Fieldsheer are excellent brands: I know many riders that have a LOT of miles on their jackets by those two makers, not sure about the Xelement.

Tip: get a leather jacket with a removable liner for Alabama weather (I grew up in Georgia). For the colder days, use the liner; but in spring/fall you may be too hot with it.:)

To bad it is full of vent holes and the jellow or tan stripes are just not me .
I need a jacket for winter use, but they do have one for $150 I might get for christmas

Has any one got a jacket from leather up?

I don't know if this will help or not but when I tried on some fieldsheer jackets, the sleeves were extremely snug on me. It was almost to the point that you would have trouble wearing even the thinnest long sleeve shirt under it. So if you have big arms that might be something to consider.

I'll keep that in mind thanks

i definitely don't have big arms, so hopefully that won't be a problem. ended up ordering the fieldsheer aston jacket from kneedragger.com, took a few days before the order was processed, but it shipped yesterday and should be here monday, so i can try it on then.

What about the Joe Rocket Speedmaster 5.0. Really good jacket, but you are kind of a billboard when you wear it. I can use this jacket for the winter and summer since it's perforated. That was the main reason behind me buying the jacket in the first place. It's a true track jacket as in it has no outside pockets and has one pocket inside. I liked how this jacket looked more than any other jacket, even outside of the sponsorships that are on the jacket. Everyone who sees it is constantly looking it over.

on a older bike like mine I thought I would look kinda goofy in a racing jacket
my older bike is far from a crotch rocket .
I am thinking less flashy or maybe leather more vintage.

Joe Rocket Speedmaster 5.0.
If I were rich maybe.
I would have a bike to match the suit.

I ride a Bandit, which is more the standard sportbike, but the jacket is really comfortable. The jacket is really expensive, but any good leather jacket made by a company is $300+ anyways. I liked the backpad in this jacket a lot, because it molds to my back. In my Phoenix 4.0 jacket has a cheap backpad and I feel like I have a shell on when I sit down. I can sit in my Speedmaster, becasue the pad molds right into my back.

I looked up speedmaster5.0 and saw a full suit at $900 not a jacket.
Do you have a link to the one you are talking about or are you talking about the full suit?
