I have an Arai Quantum/f helmet. Has a clear shield that has a few scratches on it - nothing horrible just scratches. I heard about some product like a "as seen on TV" plastic repair treatment that will get scratches out of plastic. Has anyone heard of or used this stuff? Next, I am thinking about getting a colored shield. Looking at blue - but never had anything but clear. Any advice for color - and how does the color affect night/day vision? Thanks.

Hiya,
I've only had clear myself. I was thinking of getting one of those cool mirrored shields but a buddy told me it may affect my day/night vision and I remembered my football days with one of those on and everything seemed fine in the day but at night was another story, i say go to a store try one on at day and then return at night, see what you think.

i have been wanting the tinted-mirrored faceshield too. but i was wondering about night vision. some jackets have pockets for extra shields so you can carry and extra one.
and i havent ever heard of being able to successfully get scratches out of clear plastic. seems like it would just scuff up more. i dunno.

How to remove scratches from face shields. I never had a need to try it, but hey what have you got to lose?

I have both tinted and clear face shields, keep tinted on for sunny South Florida days, but have clear tucked away in storage under seat for night riding or if it gets rainy.
Another option is the clear face shield... you can always slip a pair of close fitting sunglasses under neath.. I go for this option alot. Also if it's really hot I like to crack open the clear shield (w/sunglasses) and let the air circulate better.. just not at high speeds.;)

I ride with a clear shield and alternate between my prescription sunglasses and regular glasses depending on the day. I'd suggest getting a good pair of good sunglasses for days when the sun is shining in all its glory. Probably save you a few bucks too.

I have two face shields one 5% and the other is mirrored. Mirrored is seriously the way to go it provides enough tint for the day time so you can look directly at the sun and it really has no effect and at night you can see almost as good as the day. I don't wear the tinted one because I can't see it being safe lol. Anyways I wouldn't waste your money on repairing id just upgrade.

I've got an issue I recently found out about with my face shield. I would get moisture buildup on the outside but when I try to wipe it off it only smears and makes it difficult to see. Any suggestions?
