So, Alla y'all who aren't from round here may not know the best kept secret is how good the rides are here in SouthWest Missouri. Heck, any of South Missouri. But, I'm mostly familliar with the 2 Southern and Western most counties of Newton and McDonald. This past weekend was Magnificent riding weather. Mostly sunny, temps in the 76 range, and leaves are changing.
So, I, my Wife and 2 other couples take off for the twisty hills of "Mac" county about 10:00 AM,and are having a great time, we cruised thru Noel Mo. and took Hy.90 back over to Jane, then someone ask if anybody was hungry. We're all, "Yeah lets eat somewhere. So we turned south and in no time we were pulling into a "Chillies" in Rogers Ark. after chowing down and kicking back for a little while, we start back north on some other equally Divine secondary Ark. roads till we're back in McDonald county and at the intersection of 90 and County road "D" there is a popular stopping place called Sim's Grocery.
Since Hy.90 is such a popular ride, sought out by cruisers, sportbike riders, and even Bicyclist too, as we were kickin back at the store looking at ,I KID YOU NOT, a 1050 lb. Pumpkin on the porch on display, laying on a wood pallet, these 4 or 5 Bicyclist ride up and dismount and prepare to relax after a morning of hill climbing, and curvy road cycling, My friend says to me,..."pssst. See that silver bike that one guys riding?" "That's an $8000. bike"

I'm like, "No Freakin' Way" He says, "Oh yeah!"

Man,...I had no idea you could spend that much on a bike that didn't have a motor. :o :p :D

Oh well, I spent more on my ride than that, and they probably thought I was crazy too.

Whatever you're riding, ...Ride safe!

I'm cool with my $1800 sportbike, thanks! ('91 Honda CBR600)

I imagine he may be somewhat more healthy than me, though. Not to mention how much healthier he'd likely be if you compared both of us after a crash...

I can believe someone paid $8000 for a bicycle... it was the 1050 pound pumpkin that blew my mind!!!

I have traveled your part of country but it has been a long time. I think I will have to put it on my list of places to ride. So Mo and east AR are both beautiful areas to ride. 1050 lb pumpkin would make one heck of a pie!

There are $20,000 bicycles.

Actualy one time I was in a bike shop (the pedal kind), and I saw a pair of racing wheels for sale. It was up on an axel being displayed. I tapped it gently (like barely at all), it spun around for abour 3 minutes before it stopped. I then saw the price, which was 3 grand for both of them...yikes.

I was born in Popular Bluff, MO
Where the women chew tobacco and the dogs dip snuff!
Good O Popular Bluff!

I tell every one around here I was born in the state of Misery.

Of course I am just joking I loved it there but I now live in Indiana.
