Hi,

I'm new here, and wondering any riders around NYC and what do you ride?

I live CNJ, commute to NYC a couple of days a week, and ride sv650.

Thanks

There is a large friendly group of New York City (and tri-state area) riders at this site:

beginnerandbeyond site.... I do not have enough posts to display the exact link... google it and it is easy enough to find

Post at the General Questions and Introductions section.... mention you are from the area.

We're moving to mid-NJ in a week or so. Wouldn't mind getting together with some folks to ride. I ride a Honda VTX1300C and my husband rides a Harley Rocker C

Sussex County NJ here - I ride a 1996 Suzuki Intruder VS800 Cruiser. I used to commute every day in NYC but don't have to do that anymore since June 30th 2008.

For local rides I do Delaware Watershed NJ & PA, High Pont State Park NJ, the Catskills NY, Orange County NY, northeastern PA, northwestern NJ, even down to the Jersey shore. But I always travel the back roads. I prefer to avoid highways. I prefer pairs or small groups and riding alone.

No Large groups and, in my opinion, there is nothing scenic or exciting about highways. They are to be avoided except as a last resort.

Longer rides include all of PA, Skyline Drive in VA, The Blueridge Parkway in VA & NC, The outer Banks of NC, etc.

Longest trip thus far was 2500 miles in 10 days.

I've logged over 4500 miles since July 1st 2008.
During spring and throughout summer of 2009, I will be going on a 15k-20k mile (4 month) round trip - down south, mid-west, CA & northwest, and parts of Canada and Alaska then back home through MT/SD/WY/WI/MI/IN/KT/TN/WV/NC/PA.

I plan to spend lots of time in, around, and between National Parks. Side trips for hicking and fly fishing. I plan to camp most nights.

There are three sites I've selected to try short term prospecting: panning for gold, digging for Geods, and to unearth diamonds. I'm going to take a crack at all three - just for fun. I expect only to acquire piles of dirt, but heah, one has to try new stuff doesn't one?

I'm looking for companions to join me for the entire trip or portions of it. My current intent is to leave NJ in early-to-mid May, see NM/CO/UT/AZ and then be in LA by end of June, see the northwest and Alaska in July, the upper mid-west in August and return to NJ by end of August.

Anybody interested.
