I've been having a time finding these parts. I need a rebuild kit and the boots that go between the carb and the motor.

I would stay way from rebuilding the carbs. Just take them apart and clean them really well. The only reason you would need a rebuild kit would be be missing pieces, which you could just order a factory made original. Also if you are rejetting, but I don't think you are doing that are you? As for the boots between the carbs and the motor, good luck with that. I would try ebay. They don't make them anymore. Are your's cracking? Hard? Gone?

well, in my eye a rebuild kit would just be the gasket for the floats, the float needle if bad. but mainly the gasket which I can order from the dealer. not really sure what all is included in a rebuild kit, the ones I've seen just look like the float gasket and the float needle. I've seen some online stores with oem parts. No I'm not rejetting. I really don't understand why someone would on a stock motor? my boots look pretty bad and I'm pretty sure there the cause of a haunting idle that slowly revs up to 3k on it own after adjusting the idle with the idle screw (not idle mixture).

A rebuild kit as what they sell on ebay has screws, gaskets, o-rings, jets and needles. All which are inferior to what you have in your bike already. I would go to www.z1enterprises.com or www.bikebandit.com and buy bowl gaskets if they are bad. Clean everything including the jets and that should be good. The only thing is, I wouldn't worry about your carbs until you figure out your boots. With the boots being bad the carbs could be in 100% working order and the bike will still be crappy. I would fix those first.

ok, thanks for the links. I'm going to run the bike and spray some soapy water on the boots and see if I can see any obvious leaks.

Run the bike and spray wd-40 on the boots. You will hear the difference in the engine if there are any leaks.

well, it's funny cause I sprayed wd40 on the boots a couple days ago and it got better. it wouldn't hang up at 3k when I rev it......
when I spray wd40 on the boots the rpms should raise or drop?? or if it does anything there's a leak in them?

If it changes at all there is a leak. RPM's should go up and the idle should settle with the spray applied to leaks.
Check this guy out. You might need these o-rings eventually as well, http://www.cycleorings.com/#BS_Series_O-ring_Kit
That should give you something to look at as well. If the leaks aren't in the boots themselves it might be coming from this source.

so I just did the wd40 test and the boot on the right side is leaking. I stabalized the rpm, as much as I can, and it defenitly goes up when sprayed over one boot and not the other. so it needs new boots and o rings. probably get some of those capscrews too.

If you find the boots let us know in the hard to find part area. I will look around as well. I think your best bet is ebay. You will probably have to find boots that go on a bike similar to yours but maybe a different year or model. I think they are the same boots for multiple Suzuki bikes.

Ok, so i found some boots for this bike i think, they look different than what's on the bike but it says on the site that it fits the gs models for that year. they are on jcwhitney's site. I'd give you the exact link but it won't let me post you a url, It's on there though. Let me know if this helps out I'm also having that problem and i think we're ending up at the same conclusion.

GREAT news. these aftermarket boots, not only come with the clamps, but they eliminate the stock o ring in the back. how sick is that. $15 each.

Hope that works out for ya.

This is what Gottiz is talking about, http://www.jcwhitney.com/MIKUNI-RUBBER-FLANGES/GP_2015675_N_111+1982+200730504+600014718_10111.jc w . But you have to think about two things. This boot is completely rubber, no metal backing. Your cylinder can reach temperatures past 200 degrees. I'm not saying don't buy them, but be careful using them.

what about fabricating a metal spacer? would that help any over heat problems?

That would help, but then it would need some sort of rubber o-ring. between the two metal pieces, like the original parts are.

I ordered the 36-40mm carb with the 75mm distance between the studs. When I had the carbs apart cleaning them I thought to myself that there the wrong carbs.
I originally order these because the OD of the carb where the flange sits on and the ID of the stock flange on the bike are ruffly 40mm. but the ID of the carb is 34mm. The flange is weird, it goes down to a 34mm ID.
so, I'm pretty sure it's the 30-34mm carb cause that's what specs. I've seen said. but, what odd is that I called to clarify exactly where there measuring the distance between the studs. They said it's the center of the hole/stud to the other center ,center to center I get like 67mm?? but but from end to end I get 75mm and from the beginning of the hole the other beginning I get roughly 60mm.
They said there going to contact the manufactuer with this info and my bike model, etc. and get back to me. ??????

so they still haven't got back to me about the boots. I'm probably going to just order it from babbitts. I've already put close to $300 in this bike and I plan on doing a chain and some other stuff. I dunno if the bikes even worth it now.
I was kinda upset about the fact that I canceled the order the next day and the person over the phone said yeah, sure I cancel your order right now and supposedly canceled it over the phone. I ended up getting the wrong boots I canceled in the mail and had to send it back. even though they sent me a label I still had to go ship it.
It was kinda my fault for ordering the wrong part but the person that was helping me was of little assistance. I guessed cause of there lack of info on the product to assist me.

babbits!
I got the boots, float gaskets and few other things. great oem quality. shipping is high, but for hard to find parts I haven't found anywhere else. If you going to buy a few parts at once its not that bad.
