So, looking for helmet (full face) and I'd like something that isn't noisy and DOES NOT FOG UP please (prefer snell certified but might settle for dot if you can convince me). price isn't too much of and issue but the higher ($250+) i'd rather avoid ... Thanks for your time!

Well if you aren't going to help with that question consider this one then ... what are some major brands that I should be looking for ... I prefer them over off brands simply because I do.

KBC
HJC
SHOEI
ARAI
ICON
Just to name a few of my preferences. They all have reasonably priced helmets.
The lower end Shark helmets (S-650 series) are also great bang for your buck. They're a major brand in Europe that's been trying to break into the American market.

I just picked up an ARAI after riding with SHOEI. Both are great helmets with good vents and anti-fogging. Sometimes it come down to style, graphics and such. Most helmets today are pretty decent as long as you stay with recs like 88goarmyo6 listed.

I just picked up a HJC for $250. Good helmets for the money from what I have heard and read.

I would say to get a KBC. My personal preference is an Arai. I was in a motorcycle accident back in 2002, where a car rear ended me at 80+mph while I was doing 35mph. My helmet survived and helped me stay alive too... I had a HJC for my passenger and that helmet actually cracked. I think that we can never put a price tag on our lives so I would go spend $3000 on a helmet to save my life if I had too.

Buy an Arai, they are simply the best. Especially if you're going to be wearing it for long periods of time. Comfortable, light, plush and protective. The only real complaint I have is noise, they might not be the quietest but then I wear earplugs.

Check out this link:
http://alivetoride.com/motorcycle_helmet_comparison_chart
It lists a whole bunch of brand named helmets and ranks them on various criteria.
If you click on the individual helmets there are reviews and rankings by people who own them as well.

Any DOT helmets that are not too big or awkward for someone small... perhaps one that would compliment a soon-to-be-mine Buell Blast?!

I have a Fulmer Thrust, flip up full face. Wouldnt trade it for anything. Best helmet Ive ever had. Its comfortable to wear, the liner is washable. It doesnt fog up at all unless you deliberatly try, and you will have to be at a dead stop to do it.
I highsided and landed directly on my chin while wearing one. The flip up did not fail, and kept me from getting a face rearrangement.
The way I look at it is I fully crash tested one, and it worked...so Im sticking with em.

PERFECT ANSWER, 100% - including the earplugs.

You should probably go to a good bike store and get a knowledgeable salesperson to help you with the proper fit. Not all manufacturers hit all heads well (and not all salespeople know what their talking about, either). Most bike stores should match or come darn close to any price you can find on line. The most expensive helmet may not be the best for your head shape.

I got a black flip up or modular helmet from MotorMedley.com and it has worked out perfect for me. It's comfortable and it fits great. Was reasonably priced at around $120 or so.
