Hey, I've recently been mesmerised watching MotoGP on television late at night, and it got me to thinking about giving motorcycle street racing. What is the best/cheapest way to get into this sort of thing? I don't need anything street-legal, as I'm way too apprehensive about getting hit by a truck. Hopefully the track doesn't have this problem :).

Welcome to the forum!
The first step would be to learn to ride. Don't expect to be able to get out and compete with the professional racers on your first day. :) They do have classes to learn race riding, and track days in some locations to let people know what it's like to race. Serious racing does take years of training and lots of money. Check in your area for motorcycle track days to see what's available near you.

sounds like a plan. I've got a few years worth of both on- and off-road bicycle racing experience, so hopefully that will let me segue in a bit easier.

Since I have been spending so much time on the Ninja, I have been mesmerised myself. I am a knee dragger wannabe.
