I live in North Carolina and just purchased a new 2007 Moto Guzzi California Vintage. I am wondering if anyone else with a Moto Guzzi can tell me about their experience (good or bad) with getting parts and/or having it serviced?

I hear that Moto Guzzis are very reliable, and aside from occasionally adjusting the rocker lash, they don't need anything other than routine change of oil & filters for many years. Does anyone agree with this?

I had a Moto Guzzi V65 years ago, I never had a minutes trouble out of it. One of the most reliable bikes I ever owned. Wish I still had it!

How far away is your dealer ? What other bikes does he deal with?
What sort of reputation does he have ?
Touring across the US, you really have to check for dealers,as some states do not have one. Also they get rather busy in the season,so without a prior booking, do not expect to turn up at a dealer, and expect an immediate servicing.
Passing through Tennesee, I phoned a dealer there, and was told that they were booked solid for the next 3 weeks.
At the time I only needed basic stuff so I did it myself, oil+filter etc.
One clutzy mechanic overfilled my sump once,a quick check, (round the corner) prevented any damage.
They are good reliable bikes, and unlike a lot of Guzzi models, have not changed much ( OK the electric injection etc )
So they have all the bugs ironed out.
My Breva 750 has not hiccuped in some 20 000 miles.
Take Care Out There.
PS if it didnt come with crash bars, then I strongly recommend getting a set.
