ok so i am new to the whole motorcycle scene, but i know i want to find a fairly cheap motorcycle and turn it into a vintage style cafe bike.

the bikes i am looking at are:

between 70s and 80s
bmw r75/6
yamaha r5 or rd400 or sr500
honda cb400 500 or 750

my questions are:

which would be the most reliable bike (granted i buy the bike in fairly good condition with fairly low mileage)?

which bike would parts be easiest/cheapest to find?

and which bike will be the easiest to work on fix?

if you think of anything else that might be important let me know.

Welcome to the forum!

Any of these could be a reliable bike. The Honda parts may be easiest to find.
I'm not sure what would be easiest to work on.

i was pretty sure that all these bikes were rather reliable, I think i am gonna go with the bmw or honda.

bmw's seem less popular, which i like, something different.

but then again if the honda is easier to work on, more reliable, and cheaper, i will probably have to go with the honda.
