Still browsing around Craigslist.

Original Ad:
"'93 Yamaha FZR600R
Very clean bike, 19,750 miles.
Runs like a top, completely tuned mechanically within last 100 miles.
Replaced stator and lots of lights at the same time. Altogether spent $700+ on service / maintenance.
Ultra bright PIAA headlamps.
New battery.
New tires.
This bike was a starter bike for my son. 3rd time out with me, he had the s*** scared out of him by a car. He decided riding wasn't for him. No accident or drop, just a very close call. The mechanic/dealer valued this bike at $2400 - $2600. Since it wasn't being ridden, my son didn't re-insure it, thus the registration couldn't be renewed. I've been doing short spurts around my area to keep it up. It's a great bike, but it's not my style of ride. Only asking $1975.00!OBO"

Will that be a good bike to start off with? I'm 5'5" 135 lbs. Finish MSF, got M1.

Thanks

Here's the criteria I would recommend for a first bike:

Number of cylinders: 1 or 2
Number of CCs- Under 800
Running condition- Runs well, good clutch, good brakes, good tires, electrical system 100%.
Damage- Small scrapes or scratches, ok. Frame damage or suspension damage, no way.

A bike meeting all the items above would be ideal for a first bike.

Sounds decent. 20K miles seems really high but that is a pretty good price as well.
