I recently noticed that my front brake on my xb12r is rubbing while moving. The pads are in good shape, and I didnt hit anything to knock it out of alignment. Could this be a cable problem? Any other thoughts?

They are supposed to “ride” on the rotor surface. Or are you saying they are actually engaging (grinding)? If so it could be a cable problem (binding etc.)

The brakes don't use cables. They are hydraulic. What you are experiencing could be from sticking or dirty calipers. Try cleaning them with contact cleaner, blowing them dry with compressed air, then rock the calipers by hand to help retract the pistons back into the bores. You may have to lube the slide pins to keep it from recurring.

Oh I thought they said they had cables (??). Well if it’s hydraulic then you have the whole clogged bleed back issue as well.

Tap your disc gently with a dead-blow hammer at each screw.
Sounds like one of the floating mounts may be stuck, "cocking" your disc a bit.

The front disc has springs at each rim screw, giving about .100" float travel.

Let us know how that works out. I have a feeling Zack is onto something there.
