Hi all. I'm completely new to motorcycles. I plan on registering into a Basic Riders course given by MSF. There seems to be much I don't know. One thing I do know, I am very anxious to get into the rider class to see:
If I like riding
If I will even be good at it
My main reasons for entering the world of bikes are less money gasoline and have always wanted to know what motorcycle riding feels like.
There seems to be tons of info on this sight. Please forgive me now for when I'll eventually ask a question that's been covered several 1000 times.

Welcome to the forum!
I'll move this thread to the "No Motorcycle Yet" section. Good luck on the MSF course, you are starting out the right way!

Check into the requirements for the clothing. Most require that you wear long pants, boots, gloves and long sleeves. Most courses provide helmets, but it's good to check that out also.
Bring plenty to drink for break times.
Read all you can to get familiar with cycling and the terminology used. Be prepared to ask questions if there is anything you don't understand in the class.

Just try to stay calm. My friend took the class with me and she was so stressed over it she made herself sick. Get a good nights sleep the night before and stay hydrated. They require you to wear long sleeves and gloves here and it was hot.

I'm registered for the Basic Riders Course! I signed up yesterday and can hardly wait. Unfortuneately, I'll have to wait. The next available class wasn't until the first weekend of October. Really nervous but excited. Guess I need to re-read my states DMV motorcycle manual and pay closer attention to everything on there.
What can I expect to do, be tested on as far as in the classroom and in the course? What happens if I fail the class?

You'll have fun! Just remember to BREATHE if you feel overwhelmed.
I was gonna point you at a video but you've already got step one figured out...
Enjoy!
