I'm considering the following jackets for three season riding and am wondering how much wind (and rain) is going to come through the zipper in the front. Anyone have an idea?
Joe Rocket Lotus 2.0 (with optional liner)
Joe Rocket Heartbreaker
Cortech LRX Series 2 (women's version)

I don't think wind will be a concern, I've never had a jacket that allowed wind through the zipper. As for rain I don't know about those particular models.

I have 2 joe rocket mesh jackets, and the only issues I have had is at high speed when I am crouched, I feel wind getting in the back of the neck(if that makes sense). Overall Joe Rocket is a standup brand

I have the Heartbreaker jacket in white/lavender/pink. On the odd COLD day last winter (Miami), I'd zip all the vents shut and didn't have any air get through. I never used the removable quilted liner vest thingie, (It's MIAMI OK?) but I think it would make it fairly warm. My leather jacket is actually not any warmer (again, w/o liner) even though it's alot thicker and heavier.

I wouldn't worry about the wind, but I don't think the jackets you mentioned would keep water completely out of the zippers. The Ballistic is JR's all-weather jacket, and in the women's line, the Bianca is the other jacket claimed 100% waterproof (the Alter Ego as well, but I think that only applies if the non-insulated liner is in).
