HI Jordan! What kind of dirt bike do you ride?
The dirt bike will help you with learning to ride a street bike.
Hey not too many of us are on the forum at 2 am eastern time <G>.. just saw your post this morning while eating my breakfast LOL.

Welcome to the forum Jordan!
Riding dirt bikes will give you a good head start with knowing the controls. What type of bike will you be looking for?

Oh I am sorry
I am a bit nocturnal :p
I ride a KX-100 but it seems too weak
I have rode a 125 also
With the lack of power I usually drive a 660CC Grizzly 4 Wheeler
I want to get a permit and hopefully start riding at 15
But I am not wanting to waste my money on a weak 250 if I know I will outgrow the power fast
I was actually fantasizing about a Yamaha YZF-R6
I have never rode one but I understand the power of a 600CC beast riding the Grizzly
I do know that the R6 is very sensitive and that one little jerk of the throttle will put me on my butt :p
Do you think it is possibly to start with a 600CC bike?

I guess I could just copy and paste :D

It's a lot easier to learn on something less powerful than a 600 cc supersport; a Ninja 250/500 is good with a lot of get up and go. Again, you might be OK given your dirtbike experience. You might consider an SV 650S or Kawi 650R for a V-twin sportbike to learn on too.
The insurance will be absolutely outrageous for a teenager on a Race Replica depending on where you live.

Yeah
People tell me its not that I don't have the experience, its the insurance that is going to kill me ;)
I actually like how the Kawasaki 650R looks :D
And I was thinking about a Ninja 250 but I realized its not going to have enough power for me and I could probably ride a Ninja 500
:D
Would it be too big of a jump going from a Ninja 250R to a 600CC bike?

Welcome to the forums Sky. The dirt biking you do now will be a big help to you learning to ride a street bike. I would caution you on putting the Ninja 250 aside so fast. It may be the perfect bike for you while you finish high school. Go to the Kawasaki forums and ask some guys who ride them. See what they think.

I wish I had a dirtbike at your age. It would be alot of help now. I think a 250 or 500 would be good for you.
