I really like the blue Envy FFR, but was wondering if anyone had an opinion on modular helmets. What's the benefit/function? Is there a downside to modular helmets?

If I had $500 to spend I get a Shoei, but I don't so this one seems like a credible, if not really sexy looking one.

Helmets are such a personal thing. In most cases, if they fit and you take proper care of them, you're set for a long time.
That said,...I used to wear a modular helmet. Thought I loved it, but as luck would have it, It got knocked off it's perch a time or two to many, (got dropped), and it quit modulating.
So I went looking for a replacement, and found way to many mfgrs. used plastic locking mechinizms instead of ,...you know,...metal or something. Duh!
I ended up with a "real" ful face helmet.
Actually, I think KBC may have been one of the few that DID use metal closers. so,...get what you like. :)

There is a great web site that sells name brand helmets of all sorts that are fairly priced. Check it out.
