In a surprising move, Ducati will auction the Desmosedici GP5 that won the MotoGP world championship in 2005 during this weekendŽs US GP at Laguna Seca. No precedent or reserve has been announced, but I wouldnŽt be surprised to see the bike go for more than $1 million. The article below suggests that competing manufactures might be interested in acquiring the bike to aid in the development of their own bikes.

How do you think this will play out? What price do you think it will bring?

2005 technology is light years in the past in terms of motogp. An enthusiast may buy it, but I seriously doubt any competitive manufacturer will look at it twice, especially since the engine rules are constantly changing which makes the old bikes nothing more than really expensive relics.

hell IŽd buy it! This bike has 255hp! The Ducati GP8 only has about 235 and its Japanese competitors only have about 225.
