Hey guys,
Anybody from around the sonoma area? Pretty soon I will be looking for people to go on rides with and wanted to maybe start putting together a MF weekend ride.

I live close enough here in Northern Nevada that I could join your group. I would like to do a coastal loop. You up for it?

But, what is a "MF" weekend ride?

I'm in Sonoma County, I don't do freeways, but would be interested in getting together. I'm meeting the Redwood Riders tomorrow night at their monthly meeting, although I'm not going to have weekends free again till January. They meet at Sams For Play Cafe on Cleveland at 7pm

I am in Sonoma County too and I am in the same boat as Kaellie. I am a newbie on bikes and have done a grand total of about two blocks on the freeway (Highway 12 in Santa Rosa by the fair grounds!).
I won't be around or free to cruise until after the holidays in January as well, but I would be up for getting together for a back roads cruise.....

Kaellie,
I just picked up a 2007 Yamaha V-Star 650 Custom from Santa Rosa Power Sports a couple of weeks ago. My furthest ride so far has been the loop from Petaluma, to the town of Sonoma, up Hwy 12 into Santa Rosa and then back down to Petaluma on Petaluma Hill Road.....I think it was about 65 miles total.
My other rides have just been around town....

:D hehe, that's why I'm on forums too... to seek other groups :D
but i must say, even riding with my buddy or sibling it feels kind of awkward since i'm not used to riding in "groups" yet. I'm usually afraid to ride in groups, assuming others have greater skills than i.

Riding in groups does not have to be scary, Usually you will have advanced riders in the front screamin down the road, then the middle of the pack riders are chillin and relaxing, Then you have almost to the back, where many new riders will fall into as they are worried about not being able to have the same skill as the folks in the front. Typically you will have an advanced rider pulling up the rear to help those with problems and keep the stragglers in the group still. I am on a cruiser and myself and my girl like chillin in the middle
I am up for riding but only when it is a bit warmer like over 50 degrees is ok
