Thunderbolts are great bikes! I will probably catch some flack for this, but I'd recommend the later models (99 and up) as they were less problematic, had fuel injection, Thunderstorm heads, and higher HP rating (101 HP) than earlier models. I really like the S3T touring model with the hard bags and fairing lowers. But that's just me. Like the earlier S1 Lightnings, the earlier S3's were leaner, sexier, (and less comfortable!) But to each his own!

what's up everyone?! CB I'll use this thread you created instead creating another one 'cause my question may help you too ok?!
I rode a xb12R this morning and I was definitely pleased... The torque is monstrous and you really feel in control among other qualities, but I was very intriguied with the heat that you feel on your right leg. It is hot that you feel unconfortable. Is it commom or the one I rode could be overheating?
thx

Any XB model is virtually bulletproof. Just remember that a used motorcycle is just like any used vehicle, you never know how it has been treated.

Have not ridden either the XB series bikes nor the 1125R, but all the tubers I've ridden exhibit the same tendancies, especially early tubers with the rear exhaust pipe wrapping around the outside of the frame.

I have Suzuki SV1000S but I donīt trust it in high speed and on tilt (uncertain rear). Because of it I like new motorcycle with better handling and more stabil.
I love fast country side riding, aggresive look and brutal engine - especialy twin. Sometime I go to circuit and to the jammed city streets. I like to travel sometimes (on SV I does about 1200Km per day - terrible feeling :D)
So I like to buy 1125R.

Very normal for those (and Harley Davidson in general); don't worry about it. On my Harley I never notice it until I'm sitting in traffic. My brother has an XB9 and it's the same way.

On the subject of XB's and heat, it is normal to have that, and they have a two stage cooling fan that comes on if the temps reach a certain level, this exhausts in that area. The fan also comes on after you shut down the engine which rather startled me my first ride on one. (which I then bought)
