Hey everyone!

I am set to take my first motorcycle class in June and looking to get a good quality jacket for riding.

I was looking at the Joe Rocket Lotus or the Joe Rocket Alter Ego.

Does anyone have an opinion between those two or any suggestions for any others?

Thanks so much!!!

J

I took a look for you, I could only really find info on the Alter Ego 2.0 which is significantly more expensive than the Lotus. The Alter Ego seems slightly more versatile but I think the Lotus is the better deal. $135 for the Lotus at newenough.com with free shipping.

I do recommend that you take a look at any local dealerships to see what they have to offer, and see what you do and don't like in a jacket. You're probably better off just trying the jackets they have there, but trying to buy them online. Apparel at dealerships is remarkably overpriced.

Yeah, Dealerships are usually pretty high, but Thats a real good way to see if you like the "fit". Sizes aren't all the same between brands, nor are sleeve lengths.
If there were such thing as a "Pro" shopper, My wife would qualify. She had to try on Dozens of jackets in several states before buying one and when she did, it was at a local dealership on the "Clearance" rack! Great savings. So, If ya look, you'll find something that you like.

Just wanted to give you a heads up...

I too have been searching around for Ladies Jackets and have read some good reviews (sorry, I don't remember the sites). One of the main concerns about the Lotus is that it is really short, even for a motorcycle jacket. Go to the Motorcycle Superstore website and follow the links to the Lotus and read the reviews. Otherwise, it's a hot jacket. I've seen photos of women wearing it and it's really appealing.

Good luck :)

i just have to say that i have glad that motorcycle clothing makers have finally realised that girls do ride bikes as well. and that we have a different body shape to men. maybe it is just it is different elsewhere but in the uk ladies motorcycle clothing has only really become widely available in the last few years!!

Thanks for all the help guys!!!

Finelycrafted - I tryed on the Lotus at the store and loved it, but exactly what you said, i noticed the shortness issue Thought the same thing.

I think it should be ok though, as a starter jacket at least, and I am going to get it. Hopefully it will work out:)
