I have an opportunity to plan a breast cancer fundraiser at a local bar here in Mpls. My husband is in an 80's rock band and they will be playing that afternoon/evening along with two other bands of the same genre.
Anyone have any advise on how to plan this? Do Rides work better/worse than a Poker Run? Would love any feedback you all have.

Well, was waiting first for someone else to respond to this BUT for what it's worth, here's my input :rolleyes:: I've never belonged to a M/C that put these on, but sure have been ON lot's of em'! ;) Playing Devil's Advocate here I'd say with a organized 'Ride' you're going to deal with a fairly large amount of people moving through an area which may or may not require Police Intervention (blocking of side streets, escorting through town, etc.) plus I'm thinking Liability Insurance issues might be enormous for these?! On the other hand for a Poker Run you’re going to need (?) Volunteers to man at least 4-5 checkpoints (depending on what kind of Poker hand you’re allowing) then have folks tally up the results for the awards and or prizes. My vote would be for a Poker Run personally. I’m not a poker player seriously but I always found these fun never the less. And dog gone it I think (?) I might of actually won something or even had a decent poker hand once?! Fun never the less!
