I own a aprilia SR50 Di-tech it's engine died about a month ago and the repair cost cost more than the scooter it's self! I was thinking about buying a Rotex 123 Engine for it but it is a 125ccm motor and my scooter only has a 50 ccm motor I was wondering if anybody could tell me if it's possible to fit the engine in the frame and how the transmission would work since I have an automatic can I just build it onto the new 125 cc engine or do I need to use the maual transmission that comes with the engine?

looking forward to help!

Mike

Big job, monkey. Unless you have a shop full o' tools and all kinds of know-how, you're better off not even trying.

With money, all things are possible, but it'll cost you more than a new scooter.

Well i know that it'll cost a ton of money i'm just asking if somebody knows if the engine will even fit in the frame? Here in germany I can get a "cheap" rotax 122 or a rotax 123 engine and I was thinking about using the automatic transmission from the Aprilia Leonardo or something like that.

A list of what I think I would need. Please correct me if I'm wronge.
-engine
-transmission
-carborator+ Airfilter
-A new cable setup
-and then some frame work it the engine dosn't fit
and then of corse all the small tuning details like paint and lights and so on.

Since it's repair is going to cost more, why not just buy another aprilia SR50 Di-tech?
