Hi,
the names greg and i just finished my saftey course for a motorcylce lisence.
im only 17 but my parents have agreed to allow me, to buy a motorcycle (of course im paying for insurance on both the bike and my car)

iv been driving since i was 15 and and 6 months old (the minimum legal requirments in the state of ohio) im a fairly experienced driver with a good knowledge of roads and road saftey.

i got intrested in a bike about 2 months ago since i bought my car and put down $700 on my insurance for the new car.

i soon realized that even though it is a honda accura, it blazes through gas at an unbelievable rate. my freind suggested getting a scooter jokingly, but i thought "well, mabey a motorcycle?".

my issue is the fact im a rather big guy, im 6 foot and 300 pounds.
im looking for a wide cruising motorcyle and could use some advice on which bike to look at.

youll call me crazy but i need a used one...preferably under $2,000

Buying used isn't crazy at all, I recommend it to most new riders.

You should look at older cruisers mostly in the 600-800cc range. It will be hard to find a newer cruiser for under $2000. Honda Shadows are very popular, and shouldn't be too hard to find. You might also want to look at older standards like the Honda CB650 and CB750.

Check out Yamaha VStar 650s.

They start at about $2K used and go on up. Im 6ft4in and weight 315lbs and I ride one all over....will run 80mph just fine, more if you want to push it. Good looks and reliable.

I gave $2400 for this one as it sets.

After some modifying I bobbed it out....looks like this now.
