just curious ....what state do you live in? Most states require a motorcycle endorsement and some also require that you pass a Motorcycle safety course.
Do you have any of these?

I live in michigan, and thats what i want to know. Where do i take a safety course and get my motorcycle endorsement. A friend of mine who rides said you take a course, somewhat like a driving course, and you have to find where they are taking place. how do i find one?

Well I cant post urls so go type in "MSF" into google and click the first link leading to the motorcycle foundation. From there you can find classes near you.
Its a great class to take, I highly recommend it.

ok thank you. Also just making sure, i only have to take a safety course to be able to ride a motorcycle right? (as well as a regular license of course).

Not a problem, in every state they have different laws. In my state if you are under 21 you need to take the MSF course to get your license. But look into your own state laws for exact information on what needs to be done. Even if it isnt required I would highly suggest it to all new riders.

Check with the Michigan DMV website to get all the relevant info:

Here's a sample from the site:
• Getting Your Motorcycle Endorsement is as Easy as 1-2-3!
To legally ride a motorcycle on Michigan roads, you must have a valid driver's license with a motorcycle endorsement designation of "CY." Complete the following three steps to get your CY endorsement:
1) Visit a Secretary of State office to take the vision and written knowledge tests.
2) Pass a skills test from a rider skills testing organization OR successfully complete a certified motorcycle safety course.
3) Present your completion certificate at a Secretary of State office.
