My first Harley was a Sportster.
Bought a '76 Bicentennial Edition in '79.
I held on to her for almost 20 years, she was heavily hot-rodded.
Had more of my blood in her cases than oil, very sad to see her go.

Swore I'd never own another Sporty, then I test rode a 2003 Buell Firebolt XB9 and was insta-hooked.
What a difference a good frame can make.
Little Brother has the Firebolt, I upgraded to an 1125R.
She's a good complement to my '82 FXWG.

On a trip to Texas last month, I had 2 - 400 mile days, a 600 and a 700 on the 1125R.

Sorry guys, this was supposed to be a quick-post to the "Sportsters are girls bikes" thread, in the Harley section!
Dunno what button I clikked, it's early still.
More coffee....

Lucky you, enjoy riding it. I would love either the Firebolt or the Lightning, but finances won't allow that just yet. Buells are certainly great fun to ride and their handling is second to none.

My first Buell was a 2003 Firebolt XB9R, bought March of 2004.
My Harley, a 90" Shovelhead FXWG was bought as a fresh total rebuild Feb 2001.
They both hit 15,000 miles the same week, early last year.

My little brother has the Firebolt, it has 22k+.
FXWG has a little over 16k now.
The 1125R was delivered Dec 18th after a blizzard and is in the garage with 7000 miles exactly.

My wife is a "Buell widow", I can't stay off this bike, fortunately she's very understanding...

Buell has a home run with this new machine.
