i don't have one, but i came across review that was interesting, here's a bit of it:
'Pros: i'm an Engineer :) very attractive design, and if you compare it to cruisers very fast (i can see 200 km on tachometer) and have a very nice acceleration, the seat is very confortable, the balance is good, it handles fast corners very well, and this engine design is suzuki dl650 engine 90 degree V-twin gives you power even low rpms and final belt reduces the power loss and sound new 2008 model comes with new black chasis and fuel injection
Cons: the build quality is really disgusting as the many users claimed it is very common problems oil leaking, fuel leaking (very dangerous),gear swith broking, and shockingly one of the users handle bars screws dismantled (very dangerous)
Overall: as an engineer and a motorcycle user the most important thing is security we have tested this bike and see that it is well designed but not well produced and in my opinion this kind of low quality unsafe vehicles musnt be on sale, some one may burn bcs of the fuel leakage during hot engine, or have an accident so pls be far a way from untrusted kind of vehicles ask for ASTM, TUV, Etc.. standards compatibility and goverments must do some thing to stop these people bcs to earn more money they may kill people ,only for lower building costs !!!FIRST SAFETY!!!'

I believe they are made in Korea. I've seen good and bad reviews. Latest review said that the bike was solid and functioned well, but needed some work in the suspension and hp areas. (As compared to its competition). Do a search for the model you are interested in checking out. You will find several articles to read and ponder...:)

See if you can find parts for it. See if you can find someone that will work on it.

You get what you pay for... I mean that as a compliment. I agree with gumby, if you can find a reliable parts source, then buy one - most dealers that sell them do not work on them
I read an article once, included some of the corporate rumor mill as well as a ride test. They're made in South Korea, this much I know from talking to a dealer. The engine is loosely based on what would have been the Suzuki SV 650 engine, although it lacks the fancy fuel injection.
They have a decent rep, but they're still somewhat crude compared with the competition. You won't get the proven great braking and suspension technology you would be getting if you bought something Japanese. If you look, they're not a whole lot cheaper than the Suzuki competition either.
I honestly hope they succeed as a company. It would be nice if the South Koreans could come onto the market with a quality product and shake things up a little in the motorcycle world.

They are the same Bikes as UM http://www.umamerica.com/site/usa/index.html but UM has a better warenty 3 years powertrain 18 months fender too fender thats is better then any other bike out there as far as I know. The shop the sells them near me will service them and can get parts too. If you do your home work they can be a great bike that will keep up with any other. But find a shop that stands behind them. The price does compers with everthing elts but the warenty is better. I think they are puting up a good fight I am hearing of a lot of people using them as track bikes and the 250 are a lot nicer then any thing elts on the market.

Got to admit I've been eyeing this bike going on 2 years now (Hyosung GV650):
http://www.motorcycleforum.com/picture.php?albumid=17&pictureid=63
It's got a lot going for it BUT..... is it enough?! I dunno... I'm apprehensive because of just all the negative feelings out there. Mostly by people who've never even seen the thing in the flesh, but never the less sure feel strongly about 'things' in general from that part of the world. Can't turn a blind eye to it though. I really like this bike (at least 'virtually' online anyways) but at around $6,000+ (plus $$$ to ship it across country) is it really seriously an even better deal then comparable (same displacement & class) new machines from the 'Big Four'? Or even for a new Sporty in the $7k range?
The only thing a person just can't put a price on (or apply logic to) is a 'gut feeling'. This darn thing really grabs me - don't know why!! I just generally don't care for fancy modern looking bikes - especially when applied to a cruiser. But I sure like the looks of this one, go figure?! The pattern I'm seeing so far (right or wrong?) is most Younger people seem to really like this bike - and most Older people really slag the thing off?! Guess I'm on my 2nd (or 3rd?) 'Childhood' by now, what can I say (I like it!)?! :D

It is a very comfertable bike lowrider and you do have a UM dealer in ND http://www.umamerica.com/site/usa/find.html
There is a Hyosung dealer in SD as well as ND I dont know were u live but It cant be too far to one of them could be a good ride.
That is a quick bike too because it is more of a rocket motor in it. I liked riding it but the style is a little too much V-Rodish for me.
Bolth have parts catalogs online so I dont see how getting parts could be a problem. Exspecily when you have too places to look.

YES...Hyosung! Getting a brand new bike next year and it WILL be a Hyosung. I've been wanting the GV650, now I'm thinking the GT650 Comet. V-Twins putting out 80 hp, so it's right up there with the non-supersport Japanese bikes (like the Kawi Ninja 650). They used to make Suzuki engines and bikes, as a contractor, as far back as '79. Good quality bikes, not the best, but far superior to the Chinese products. There are many dealers across the country and the number's increasing.
Oh, btw...I rode the cruiser and the sportbike. I was VERY impressed!

I know a few people over this side of the pond that love the Hyosung. A friend of mine owns the GT125 R he loves it and is never off the bike. It is a big bike for a 125 and another friend whose husband works with motorbikes all day long wants the above bike, he has given his approval :)
There are plenty of dealers over here who will work on the bike as well. Maybe things are different over here, I don't know, but Hyosung are certainly growing in popularity.

I rode an '05 GT650R yesterday. Wicked, wicked fun. It was a demo, had no 1st gear, had road rash and needed the carbs seriously adjusted. But, it still peeled out and hauled! I rode only Hyosungs 250's before, now I'm thinking 650.

Ouch, my wife has specifically said "NO more bikes until we move". :( Dang, the way our business (sales) go up and down, that could be forever / never, and I ain't gettin' no younger! When I initially contacted Hyosung some time ago I was VERY impressed by they're expedite answer and the content of same. Such courteous service is almost unheard of in this day and age (except from OUR company of course! ;)). I'm really hoping for the best for Hyosung at this point - hope they CAN make it. I can't even begin to imagine the insurmountable problems a still relatively new Motorcycle Company has to go through. At least ways I think they've been around longer then still waiting for Resurrection (via Chris Craft) GILROY Indian and certainly LONGER then long since Dead and Defunct 1999/2000 Excelsior-Henderson. NOT to mention worrying about lunatic NORTH Korea next door! Yikes?! Keeping my fingers crossed, that's all I can say (for a 1200+ GV Cruiser someday)! :D

I am new to Motorcycles in general and Cruisers inparticular, and I have been doing alot of reading online about alot of bikes. I keep coming back to the United Motors v2c 250t as the 1st bike for me and my wife. As the title says I will be ordering mine soon and I will let you know how it goes on this thread as things proceed, I will try anyhow I may be like the others and be out having to much funb to inform you :-) (that must be why they haven't followed up)
My Story so far:
Online reviews,
AS I go over what online reviews I can find it seems thatthey are all just from the stat sheets and not from actually getting on and going for a ride. Even so the UM 250 does wel in these reviews.
Online Forums,
Most of the negative stuff seems to come from biggots or those that might "possibly" be competitors. as their statments are way over the top and/or are not given to responding to and backing up their claims.
Those that are possitive are from those that have boughten them and they compaire very well to other bikes in the size range, very well in fact. I have read in several forums that the 250 does beter than others in many areas. One constant thing I read about other bkes is the lack of get up and go when mounted by a 6' male in the 200lbs range, never read that in the hyosung and um forums. Very important thing to note.
Dealer,
There are several dealers within 75miles of me and a UM dealer very close so I went to check him out. They are a full service shop so I don't have to worry about getting work done if I need to. They seem very niceand interested in me getting the ike I need. The last I say because when I went in I said only that I am getting the 650 or the 250 so wich one? He didn't answer he talked to me about the full line not just the criuser that I had my eyes on, we talked about how I would use it and whom else would be riding with me. Then he said "get the 250t not the 650 as we are (me and the wife) very new." This impressed me as the only bad stories seem to be dealer related.

Cool, vortex. Let us know when you get your bike...or is it bikeS? One for you, one for the mrs?
I rode the 250cc cruiser (Hyosung GV250). For me, at 5'11", it seemed like my knees were hitting the bars. Sat kind of low for me. But, it really is a great looking and handling bike. Has good power.
Anyway, gotta post up and let us know what ya think.

There have been some side by side comparisons out there. One I remember reading was overall positive, except that when you did a comparison model for model they were not that much less expensive if I remember.
Like everyone else has mentioned stay far away from any of the Chinese knock offs, if they make their bikes like their cars they'll be killing people in no time. Korean made is a whole other world.

Yeah, I would think that the price would be less than what it is. It was about 500-600 less then the suzuki. Maybe could talk down a little bit if the sales guy knows there is a sell and not just someone looking around. I won't be buying anything for a couple of years anyway. Just got my ninja 500 and I really want to get used to riding more before going any bigger.

Well, my Hyo is BY FAR the BEST motorcycle I've EVER owned! It has great power, acceleration, handling and comfort. The mpgs aren't bad, either. This is a very substantial 250. It is actually 650cc-sized. The frame was, in fact, created for the 650cc.

Opps! Been busy. I'm gonna do the oil change next weekend. Just gotta pick up the oil filter. I have nearly 600 miles on the bike and love every minute of it.
The bike has enough power for the highway, is very comfortable for commuting and gets great gas mileage
It's built very well and handles really well, too.
I intend to replace the exhaust can because it's a bit quiet for me. I'll probably put an fender eliminator on soon, too. Other than that, I'll most likely keep it stock.
It's definitely heavy for a 250, but that's why it's so good on the highway. It can zoom along just fine. I've had it up to 85mph the day I bought it and gets there pretty quickly.
I think I mad a wise choice. Took 2 weeks to get the MSO. I'm still waiting for the gas card.
Oh, yeah...gonna put an alarm in.
Pics to come soon!
Let us know what happens, Sherry. Good luck!

For those saying Hyosung is the SAME as UM I feel the need to caorrect this misconception. Hyosung, and Kymco for that matter, is actually a manufacturer UM is an importer. Meaning Hyosung manufactures what they sell and UM sells what they can from other manufacturers and there is a huge and growing number of small unheard of "cottage" manufacturers throughout the Pacifc Rim from China to Malaysia. The big players from Japan, Europe, and even here in the U.S. are watching with great interest as we could be seeing another major realignment in the industry similar to what we saw back in the 60's and early 70's when the big four swept up market share in such large chunks that the U.S. and Euro companies, many of whom did not recover and wher lost for good, simply were unable to cope at the time.

Nevermind. After spending over two hours reading horror stories I'm taking the Hyosung off my list. Too many things going wrong with them including gas tank welds that don't hold, nuts that don't stay attached to their bolts, gas gauges that don't work correctly and so on. Sure it is warranted. But seeing so many first hand testimonies where their bike spent more time with a mechanic than on the road I think I'll pass on all the stress.

I'm wondering if (?) United Motors does anything further to correct possible flaws in Hyosung Motorcycles received, or just slap they're name on em' and sell em' as is? I seem to recall there might of been say importers who were bringing in the Russian made Ural’s, and were fixing the things before selling? I was one of the fools at one time who was buying Medium-Format 'Kiev' film cameras and lenses for commercial photography purposes - what a nightmare! There were in fact importers of those whom you could of bought the Kiev from, with the ‘defects’ pre-corrected. Note again folks that Hyosung's are in fact made in South Korea, NOT China! I’m saying they’re a step better, but not perfect. But then again, what IS?! Nuff’ said.

I got a GV650 and i love it. Yes i had a problem with my gas gauge not reading accurate. Got that fixed under warranty. Although it is still not accurate, but much accurate then it was before. I just learn to keep track of how many miles i have on my tank and when it start to get low, i peek in to see how much gas i have. No biggie. Do a google search for alternativecruisers and korider. You'll find that most GV650 owners still love their bike, despite the problems they had. All bikes have flaws. If you get a Hyosung, make sure there is a good dependable dealership near by to work on them.

Anything new "out of the box" should come with "some assembly required" not constant fixing of defects due to poor craftsmanship.
My basis for this is all the stories I read about they Hyosung while I was researching the bike. Can't really find the same stories about any other motorcycle brand that is new.
Don't get me wrong they look like great bikes. I would probably own one if it wasn't for all the defects.

I looked at these once, and when the dealer still had leftover '05 models, I knew they were something to stay away from.

The dealer here has left overs but sold a lot in other colors people just did not want that color that year.
