Here is a link to the new bill (http://www.myfloridahouse.gov/SEctions/Bills/billsdetail.aspx?BillId=37239).

The link is in reference to the following info:
Operating a Motor Vehicle: Creates additional offenses regarding motor vehicle operation; requires operator of motorcycle or moped to maintain both wheels on ground at all times; requires that license tag of motorcycle or moped be affixed horizontally; provides additional penalties for certain offenses; provides for revocation of person's privilege to operate motor vehicle.

I found a pointer to the Florida Bill on another site. Just thought you folks might be interested.

There's also the new one where 30 over (iirc) the speed limit get's your bike seized. That's probably going to lead to a lot of eluding, what's the speeder's incentive to stop? It won't affect me personally, but it seems draconian not to mention biased since it does not seem to apply to other motor vehicles. I doubt it will have the desired effect of slowing the sport bikes down.

If that seizure law does not apply to other other vehicles making the same violation it won't hold hold water on constitutional grounds. They will bully all that they can - but will loose it in the big courts. Folks will loose a lot of money fighting it though, or just surrender the loss.

Well that's always been the governments winning hand; only the wealthy can afford to fight for their rights.

I forgot to ask my advisors during Explorers today. I am going to ask next week and see what they think, just out of curiosity on the enforcer's point of view.

I had heard that the 30 over part was amended to make it so the vehicle was seized after the 3rd offense. You might want to check that.
