1975 r90/6

A local bmw dealer is selling 1975 r90/6 with 29k kms. This will be my first bike. Dealer mentioned that some work has been done on the engine and contains r90/7 parts, but maintain that bike is in good condition and runs perfect. Since its 1975 there is no warranty of any kind.
I was hoping if you guys can help me by giving some advise as to what I should look for while inspecting the bike. Do you folks think its ok to buy a BMW bike with work done on engine from /7 parts.
Dealer has decent reputation.

If the dealer has a decent reputation thats good but it is an old BMW though I see no problems with the parts as many of the BMW boxer motor parts are very very interchangeable! what kind of money? as you say this is your first bike and typically you will drop it crash it and such while learning on it and a old Airhead is cool and a great ride but parts are not plentiful and they certainly are not cheap!
