So as I always need to mention first, I am in a bit of a different situation than most all of you in that I live in Mexico...and...

I need a helmet and prefer the 3/4 or open face with a visor.

I have found many full face here, and even 1 modular, but they are just very uncomfortable in the heat and make me freak out too (claustrophobia).

I can't find any, and I mean they simply are not sold here where I live, 3/4 or open face helmets that are DOT or Snell.

Theres tons of made in Taiwan crap that lots of people wear, usually they even wear them backwards. But thats not what I want.

So my options appear to be:
1-Order blindly from the internet and hope it fits, taking a big hit on shipping and possibly customs if I have to order from outside Mexico and/or return it for another.

Or

2-Go to the Harley dealer in Cancun (3 hours by car, so if I took my bike probably 5 or 6 hours. I don't go fast, or I'd just take the bus) and buy an HD helmet, which they have 3/4 and are DOT, but only come in black (I kinda wanted a white helmet)

Unless someone else has an idea that I haven't thought of, which is kind of what I'm hoping for.

Thoughts?

There is a member here that is a rep for Shoei helmets. Just look a little further down this particular forum. Chromekid01 is another member that has an e-bay mc accessory store that has done Uesque and I both good. I've had good experience with denniskirk.com. Does UPS deliver for you?

Just order one on the internet. I did it and I live in the USA. Just measure your head according to the sizing descriptions on the site where you buy. I used www.motorcyclesuperstore.com and was happy with them.

I have a feeling if you go to the harley dealer you will be paying more when you add up gas+time+harley name brand markup than if you buy a nice helmet and have it shipped. Just a thought.
